Commentary
Simple macromolecule, a polymer of propylene. It is classified as follows according to the manufacturing method.
-PP homopolymer: made of PP structure only. Difficult to achieve impact resistance and dimennsional stability.
-PP random copolymer: PE is inserted into the PP main chain to polymerize.
-PP block copolymer: PE is mixed with EPR in PP, improving impact resistance.
Key points
- The smallest specific gravity among general-purpose plastics(0.90).
- Good moldability and impact resistance, it's used for automobile bumpers.
- Not good at dimensional stability, so unsuitable for precision applications.

Automotive bumper

Reason for adoption
Good moldability for large applications (good injection moldability), good at impact (impact resistance), lightweight (low specific gravity), good at gasoline (chemical resistance)
Case for clothes

Reason for adoption
Good moldability for large applications (good injection moldability), good impact resistance (impact resistance), lightweight (low specific gravity)
Food storage container

Reason for adoption
Does not break even in the refrigerator (cold resistance), hygienic as a food container, lightweight (low specific gravity), does not deform at around 100℃
