Commentary

Biodegradable aliphatic aromatic polyester. It is synthesized from the petrochemical raw materials adipic acid and terephthalic acid and1,4-butanediol. It is decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by microorganisms in nature.

Key points

  • Biodegradable mulch film mainly PBAT, it is with similar properties to LDPE.
  • It can be plowed into the soil after harvest, to reduce labor for film recovery.
  • Research is underway to make the film entirely from plant-based ingredients.
