1938 Teikoku Kagaku Sangyo K.K. established in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture
1939 Commencement of production of enzyme products for dye desizing at the Amagasaki Factory of Nagase & Co., Ltd. (predecessor of Nagase Biochemicals, Ltd.)
1947 Nippon Kankoh-Shikiso Kenkyusho Co., Ltd. (predecessor of the Okayama Plant; Functional Dyes Business) established, succeeding to the technology and business from the Ogata Laboratory of RIKEN, a National Research and Development Agency
1958 Commencement of operations at the Amagasaki-Higashi Factory as the organic synthesis division of Nagase & Co., Ltd. (predecessor of Nagase Chemicals, Ltd.)
