Nagase Viita Recognized as an Outstanding Company for Cancer Control Initiatives

Nagase Viita has been named an Outstanding Company for Cancer Control Initiatives for FY2025 under the Cancer Control Corporate Action program*, led by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, for promoting cancer screening and supporting employees balancing medical treatment and work, marking its first such recognition.

Since FY2022, Nagase Viita has been part of the program, expanding these efforts across the company.

Key initiatives: 
 
1. Prevention and early detection

  • 100% participation in annual health checkups

  • Financial support for cancer screening

  • Subsidies for cervical and breast cancer screenings, including programs available to employees in their teens

  • Follow-up support for re-examinations through occupational health staff (nurses and public health nurses)


2. Support for employees balancing medical treatment and work

  • Flexible work arrangements tailored to treatment needs, including remote work, flextime, and dedicated leave systems

  • Access to consultation services through specialized coordinators, along with regular “Mental and Physical Health Consultation” sessions

  • Introduction of the “Nagase Viita Guidelines for Supporting the Balance between Medical Treatment and Work Life”

3. Awareness and health literacy

  • Cancer awareness seminars by medical professionals for all employees

  • Regular sharing of health information via the company intranet and workplace posters

Nagase Viita will continue advancing health and wellbeing initiatives, including cancer-focused efforts, to support a workplace where employees can stay healthy and engaged over the long term.
