TREHALOSE SG, an injectable-grade saccharide excipient, prevents cells and protein from damage, stabilizing nucleotides.
Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide consisting of two glucose molecules linked by an α,α‒1,1 bond. TREHALOSE SG is a highly purified dihydrate crystalline with a low endotoxin specification and used for parenteral formulations.
Key Solutions
For Biopharmaceuticals
TREHALOSE SG is unique in its high glass transition temperature (Tg, T’g) and remarkable acid tolerance as well as heat stability, showing no Maillard reaction when heated in solutions containing amino acids. TREHALOSE SG provides solutions for stabilizing protein structures when proteins are lyophilized or frozen, and is also known to prevent cells and liposomes from damage during freezing and thawing.
Applications
Stabilization of antibodies, peptides, and vaccines for injection
Stabilization of exosomes
Preservation of platelets
