On September 12th, 2023, our efforts on sustainability were featured in “NHK World-Japan,” the international broadcasting service NHK, Japan’s public media organization. It features the challenges of our two staff members at the Supply Chain Department to tackle the so-called “2024 problem,” which is the further shortage of truck drivers due to the overtime restrictions that will come into effect next year. To address this issue, Hayashibara is focusing in particular on improving transportation efficiency; they have been contributing to sustainable logistics through the use of consolidated charter services and/or rail freight transportation.
