Nagase Viita Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; Representative Director: Takahiko Mandai), a member of the NAGASE Group, endorses the objectives of the United Nations food aid agency, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), and to support its activities, has been participating in the UN WFP Corporate Programme since 2022. Recently, we have signed a new memorandum of understanding with the NPO Japan Association for the World Food Programme (JAWFP), the official private sector support liaison for the WFP, and will provide support in the capacity as an official "Supporter" from March 2025 to March 2027.

The WFP provides life-saving food to people suffering from conflict and disasters, while also engaging in a wide range of activities such as strengthening nutrition for women and children, improving the productivity of small-scale farmers and reducing their losses, assisting in preparedness for and responses to climate-related disasters, and enhancing children's nutritional uptake through school feeding programs.

We have set securing stable food supply as our materiality and are taking various initiatives to build a sustainable food system. However, it is difficult for us alone to solve this major issue, and we hope to make a more multifaceted contribution through our support towards the activities of the WFP. We fully endorse the WFP's mission to eradicate hunger and poverty and will support countries facing challenges in securing stable food supplies through the WFP’s efforts. The donations we made from 2022 to 2024 were primarily allocated to school feeding programs. The WFP’s school feeding programs not only improve children’s nutrition uptake but also contribute to increasing school attendance rates.
