Product Overview

"amXact" is soil amendments that use arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AM fungi), microorganism that symbiotically associate with plant roots.

AM fungi can form symbiotic relationships with approximately 80% of terrestrial plants. *1
AM fungi invade plant roots and help absorb essential nutrients such as phosphate from the soil, promoting plant growth. *2

Additionally, numerous studies have reported that AM fungi are effective in enhancing resistance to pests and diseases, as well as improving tolerance to environmental stress.

*1 AM fungi cannot form symbiotic relationships with certain plants, such as those in the Brassicaceae, Polygonaceae, and Amaranthaceae families.
*2 Results of joint research applying amXact to Namba green onions with the Research Institute of Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries, Osaka Prefecture

Benefit

1. Promotion of Plant Growth

AM fungi form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, efficiently absorbing phosphorus and other nutrients from the soil and supplying them to the plant.
This promotes plant growth.

2. Reduction of Chemical Fertilizers:

The use of AM fungi can reduce the amount of chemical fertilizers needed, which also helps to lessen environmental impact.

3. Improvement of Soil Health

AM fungi improve soil structure and enhance water retention capacity.
This leads to better soil health and increased disease resistance in crops.

4. Increase in Yield and Quality

Many studies have reported that using AM fungi materials can increase crop yield and quality.
For example, trials with green onions and soybeans have shown increased yields and improved quality.

5. Enhancement of Environmental Adaptability

AM fungi enhance the environmental adaptability of plants, improving their resistance to climatic changes such as drought and heavy rainfall.

Features

High Propagule Count

This indicates that there are many infection units (propagules*) of mycorrhizal fungi present in the soil, leading to a high infection rate.
In this state, the roots of plants are heavily infected with AM fungi, allowing the plants to efficiently absorb more nutrients.

*AM Fungi Propagules:
These refer to the "infection units" that enable AM fungi to infect plant roots.
Specifically, spores, hyphal fragments, and root fragments of AM fungi function as propagules.
