Nagase Viita Co., Ltd (Headquarters: Shimoishii, Kita-ku, Okayama; Representative Director: Naoki Yasuba), a member of the NAGASE Group, has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement for a cultural property conservation project with Matsuura City in Nagasaki Prefecture, and the official signing ceremony has taken place on September 25.

Conservation treatments for pieces of a Mongolian warship excavated from an underwater archaeological site off Takashima Island in Matsuura have involved trehalose-based conservation treatments since 2013, and these treatments utilize trehalose that Nagase Viita was the first to succeed in mass production (product name: TREHA™ ). Nagase Viita regularly shares up-to-date information on the trehalose impregnation treatment through websites and sponsored content. And after receiving tremendous assistance and cooperation from Matsuura City when preparing those articles, we have now formed a partnership agreement based on our existing connection.

Along with supporting conservation treatments at the Matsuura City Buried Archaeological Center, Nagase Viita will continue partnering with Matsuura City in proactively sharing information to further contribute to the meaningful endeavor of passing on valuable cultural heritage to future generations.
