Mono-material film with high gas barrier function will be required for simple recycling process, but generally gas barrier function on film is obtained by multi layered structure of different materials. Our cleaved synthetic mica, Somasif ME can be the solution to achive high gas barrier function on mono-material film because gas permeation is suppressd by oriented mica layer.

Technology Details
By blending synthetic mica with aqueous resin, high-purity, thinly layered mica particles are oriented on the substrate. The number of particles increases due to the swelling ability and cleavage effect that are not found in natural products, and the barrier property is demonstrated by the maze effect.
