Introduction to DENATRON SPS-800, a stretchable grade electrically conductive polymer coating.
First, please watch the following video.
The LED lamp lights up when the electrode is attached to the urethane rubber coated with DENATRON, showing that it is conducting electricity.
Even when it is stretched, the LED stays light, showing that the rubber remains electrically conductive.
This is not possible with any material; electrically conductive metallic films crack when subjected to stress, cutting off the path of electrical conduction.
The excellent flexibility and stretchability of electrically conductive polymer are what enable it to stretch in tandem with the rubber like this.
However, even with electrically conductive polymer, electrical conductivity rates gradually fall when subjected to repeated stretching.
SPS-800 uses our original formulation that retains its electrical conductivity even when repeatedly stretched.
In recent years, the electronics industry has made research advances in materials that go beyond mere flexibility to be truly stretchable.
Development has progressed for a variety of types of wearable devices that require stretchability and a close fit. DENATRON can be used in a wide range of applications, such as wearable sensors, medical sensors, and stretchable electrodes.
