In order to provide a product that meets customer requirements, it is usually necessary to incorporate multiple functions into a single product. In order to provide multiple functions, multiple materials that perform those functions must coexist in a single product.

However, if you are trying to remove stains with very different physical properties, such as inorganic and organic stains, with a single liquid, it can be challenging. In some cases, inorganic stains and organic stains with very different properties cannot be stably dissolved in a single liquid. Additionally, to ensure customers can use our products with peace of mind, it is essential that chemicals with various ingredients coexist and maintain stable performance over time.

Furthermore, the key to solving this challenging problem lies compounding technology. This is the “behind-the-scenes” technology that is the base for developing and manufacturing products that are stable while having multiple technologies.

Based on this formulation technology, NAGASE has been providing chemical solutions to the advanced electronics industry, including semiconductors, electronic components, and FPDs, for more than 30 years, contributing to the development of the industry. We will continue to contribute to the evolution of the advanced electronics industry through chemical development and sales.

Example of Blending Technology: Oil-Water Separation in Washing Processes

In the cleaning process of many electronic devices and components, water used to rinse off the cleaning solution, exfoliation solution, or etching process. Hydrophobic substances are primarily removed by emulsifying them with a surfactant, such as a household detergent, or by dissolving them in a solvent. However, rinsing with water can lead to water turbidity and generate large amounts of rinse water, posing an environmental challenge.

Utilizing NAGASE's formulation technology, we are working to develop an oil-water separating stripping solution that removes oil-based stains and allows oil to float during the rinsing process. This facilitates stain recovery and contributing to the reduction of water consumption.

NAGASE has introduced distillation and regeneration equipment within the company to promote the reuse of organic solvents from the perspective of effective resource utilization. We analyze and adjust the metal specifications and impurity components of the regenerated solvents, and also promote the sale of products using recycled materials.
